ADE BEAN - DIRECTOR / WRITER

Ade is an award-winning director and writer who began his career directing Theatre and now has over twenty years experience of directing in Television and Radio Drama. Television credits include: HEARTBEAT, EASTENDERS, CASUALTY, HOLBY CITY, RIVER CITY, THE CORONER, MURDER IN MIND, THE AFTERNOON PLAY, HOLLYOAKS, DOCTORS, EMMERDALE, THE ROYAL,  MERSEYBEAT,  and CORONATION STREET.  His numerous writing credits in Radio, Television and Theatre include commissions for BBC Radio 3 and 4, ITV and BBC1. Although based in Scotland Ade directs regularly all over the UK from London to Glasgow, and he has worked as far afield as Los Angeles, Moscow and Bucharest. Ade is married to the actress  Caroline Strong  and is a member of  BAFTADIRECTORS UK  and ALCS

January 2016: Louise Ironside wins prestigious Writer's Guild of Great Britain award for Best Episode in a Long-Running TV Series. This sad, funny and powerful episode (which Ade directed) saw the departure of a well-loved character Big Bob, and dealt honestly with issues around weight and self-esteem. Congratulations to Louise, actor Tom Urie, Producer Julie Barker and the River City team!
